How do I apply?

For 2025, Samsung is directly reaching out to select North American universities as part of this pilot. We expect to open up the program to all universities in 2026.

If you are interested in being considered for this year’s LEAP-U program, please work with your Technology Transfer Office to review the program’s criteria and contact the LEAP-U team via email.

We initially require a one-page brief from the Technology Transfer Office for consideration. The one-page brief should include:

• A short summary of the existing research with a TRL level 3 or above
• Proposed research direction and validation, including research milestones
• A description of any related background IP

For shortlisted briefs, a proposal is requested by SRA. Proposals should include:

• Deliverables and timeline (6-12 months)
• Budget
• References
• Your team CVs
• Any other related documentation
